If you’re a hop head (IPA fan) then you have undoubtedly heard of Heady Topper, the delicious American Double IPA produced by The Alchemist cannery in Waterbury, VT. I was lucky enough to ride my motorcycle up to The Alchemist Pub & Brewery for dinner and a few pints on a beautiful Friday one summer; I say lucky because in August of 2011 the street level pub and basement brewery were destroyed by a flood during Hurricane Irene, and the pub is no longer in existence (see Pro Pig post). I’m still saddened that something so horrible happened to such wonderful people. The photos below are from my bike trips to the cannery to grab me some of that hoppy nectar. Drink from the can!
I like taking pictures of signs, especially ones you can put your face into:
I tried putting my face into this one…ouch!
The coolest truck ever:
Pay no attention to the cans behind the curtain:
I tried to bring these tanks home but they didn’t let me:
Brought a fresh case home on my bike in November 2012 – first one off the line that day:
Scoring two cases to enjoy on vacation last July:
Boy does that look tasty:
Heady + Fire + Pond = Heaven:
Update (Spring/Summer 2014): Lots of trips to Vermont and lots of cans of Heady!
Even scored some on my mountain bike:
Are you ready for a Heady?
