I rode my motorcycle to Amherst today, and my daughter and I had a tremendous time at High Horse Brewing. Everything was wonderful: the food, the atmosphere, the service…and the beer, of course! On top of all of that awesomeness, the very talented and kind gentlemen behind the delicious craft brews we enjoyed took a considerable amount of time out of his busy day to chat with us about his liquid creations, the brew pub, our personal and professional histories, and life in general. It was good old fashioned hospitality taken to a whole new level and it made our day!
We hung out at the bar on the first floor; the entire space is beautifully decorated and laid out well. I meant to go upstairs to take pictures (my daughter says it is amazing) but I completely spaced out. Looks like I will have to go back to High Horse to snap some more photos…which will probably make me thirsty…so I should have beer while I’m there…just to stay hydrated.
Update (5/9/14): A little pre-graduation celebration with my daughter. We ordered the cask Satisfaction IPA and it was stellar:
Awwww…father and daughter pints…isn’t that cute?

Killer outdoor seating:
You know me and my sign pics!
The portal to craft beer goodness:
Love this chalkboard. I got there a few minutes before they opened so all of the specials weren’t up yet. Talk about fresh!
A few shots of the bar area that we occupied for 3+ hours:
The beer that came out of this gravity cask (Another Lover IPA dry hopped with Glacier) was glorious…
…as were the ones we sampled from this impressive list!
My flight of pure excellence:
My daughter making her daddy proud by drinking this pint of fresh and tasty IPA. I’m a sucker for beer glasses and skulls so I bought one of these and hauled it home on my bike!
Everything about this chipotle chili was ridiculously good, including the presentation:
Have I mentioned that I love anything to do with craft beer?
